Accessibility statement

This website has been built so that as many people as possible can use it, on as many devices as possible — including people using a screen reader and people navigating by keyboard alone.

What this site provides

• Text and background colours meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA contrast, and the borders of controls meet the 3:1 ratio asked of a component boundary.
• Every page begins with a “Skip to main content” link, reached first when navigating by keyboard.
• An A− / A / A+ control in the header changes the text size. The choice is remembered in your browser.
• All functionality is available from the keyboard alone, and the element in focus is clearly outlined.
• Buttons and links are at least 44 × 44 pixels, so they can be operated by touch or with limited dexterity.
• The tenders and downloads pages work fully with JavaScript disabled — the tabs, search and category filters are ordinary links.
• Pages are available in Hindi and English, with the language marked up correctly for assistive technology.
• Tables have marked header rows, images carry alternative text, and every form field has a label.

Known limitations

• Most tender documents are scanned PDFs. They have no text layer, so a screen reader cannot read them. If you need the contents of a tender in an accessible form, please contact the office and we will provide it.
• The land use plan is an image. The information it shows is not available as text; details can be obtained from the office on request.
• Alternative text is still incomplete for some photographs carried over from the previous website. This is being filled in progressively.
